LSWasp: It's been a year since the release of the Hemlock Grove book. When can we expect the next one?
diegomcgreevy: There are no current plans for future books in the series. But my company, Shinebox SMC, has some cool projects in development in both film and television.
brielleisawk: Are you working on anything now? or have some ideas in the works for a new book? yes yes?!
diegomcgreevy: I am working on a new book. It is not related to HEMLOCK GROVE. I hope it pleasantly surprises people.

diegomcgreevy: I am not Romani, I just did a fair amount of research, including interviewing a Western Pennsylvania gypsy family. It was important for me to not misrepresent the culture -- which, paradoxically, included intentionally capturing the way the culture intentionally misrepresents itself to gadjo fuckheads. But I would say the point of Peter is that he is quintessentially American as opposed to quintessentially Romani -- the freedom of identity of that culture just happens to symbolize it perfectly.

diegomcgreevy: It is known that Skarsgards battle with their razor sharp cheekbones. After all the blood spatter was cleaned up you would only find pale Swedish ribbons.

pelevin: Which characters were the easiest/most difficult to cast?
diegomcgreevy: The first audition tape we got for Roman was Bill Skarsgard. My response: f*ck that, too obvious. Then within three minutes I knew we had our deviant, mildly demented man. The most difficult to cast was Dr. Pryce. Then we saw a very curious video of a Filipino man doing a dead on impression of Morgan Freeman in "The Shawshank Redemption" and knew Joel de la Fuente was too strange and wonderful not to cast.

diegomcgreevy: Plans for season 2 are in a lockbox guarded by drones. Not missiles, just a shitload of bees.
нагнал туману, одним словом. Но если он не планирует писать больше книги о героях ХГ, тогда ему придется придумывать оригинальный сценарий, если они таки решат делать второй сезон.
